Lemonade Day registration is now open for all students in grades 3-6. If you are interested in taking your student through the curriculum lessons at home, all materials will be provided to you at no cost. Students must be registered by March 31 to participate. The Lemonade Day celebration is set for Saturday, May 1.
Ron Jakubisin, Positive Youth Development Educator at UW/Madison-Extension for Fond du Lac County will serve as a mentor for those signing up through the Extension office. Ron will assist you in signing up and schedule virtual meetings to review lessons, assist with your ‘team’s progress in planning your Lemonade Stand. For the Lemonade Day celebration event on May 1, all of the lemonade stands will be required to be “drive-thru” stands offering a contactless experience. Additional health and safety precautions will be required for participation such as face masks, gloves, and limitations on group sizes at the stands.
The objective of Lemonade Day is to teach children the entrepreneurial skills necessary to be successful in the future and become contributing members of their communities. They learn how to create a budget, setting profit-making goals, serve customers, repay investors and give back to the community. The program is free for all youth thanks to the generous contributions of area sponsors.
If you are interested in having a team participate in the lessons, including Lemonade Day on May 1st, contact Ron Jakubisin at ron.jakubisin@wisc.edu or phone 920-929-3144.
