FoodWIse Hiring Announcements

The Fond du Lac/Sheboygan FoodWIse program is currently hiring an 80% full-time Nutrition Educator to serve in Fond du Lac County. FoodWIse is a federally funded nutrition education program that aims to advance healthy eating habits, active lifestyles, and healthy community environments for individuals and families with limited incomes through nutrition education at the individual, community, and systems level. Through partnerships with community organizations and schools, FoodWIse teaches about nutrition (dietary guidelines, MyPlate and the food groups), food budgeting, and food safety. As an obesity prevention program, FoodWIse also partners with and/or leads local health coalition and food security efforts. FoodWIse is currently in 71 of the 72 Wisconsin Counties. The program has been in Fond du Lac County since the 1970s and Sheboygan County since the early 1990s. The local program includes a Nutrition Coordinator (Amanda Miller), a Bi-Lingual Nutrition Educator in Sheboygan County (Janeth Orozco), and two Nutrition Educators in Fond du Lac County (Melanie Phillips and recently vacant.)

In addition, FoodWIse is also hiring a full-time (100%) AmeriCorps Vista position to lead local efforts related to “farm to ECE” (or early childcare education) for a full year (October 2024-September 2025.). More information, including the position description, is soon to come.
