Youth Enjoy a Day of Learning, Creativity, Imagination, and Playing Outdoors

4-H, in partnership with the Gottfried Prairie and Arboretum and Cristo Rey Ranch, hosted the 2017 Cloverbud Day Camp. This was a one-day event for children 5 to 8 years old. Twenty-four children had the opportunity to participate in this day of learning, creativity, imagination, and playing outdoors.

The Gottfried Prairie and Arboretum volunteers led a nature walk through the Prairie and helped participants explore the pond while teaching youth to respect the environment and to take the time to experience and enjoy nature.

Cristo Rey Ranch volunteers brought some farm animals.  Youth learned interesting facts about those animals also — to be respectful and careful while petting, holding, feeding, and interacting with the animals.

Twelve 4-H members served as counselors, led games and arts and crafts activities, answered questions, leant a helping hand, and made sure that everyone was participating to their fullest.

“Just want to let you know how much fun everyone had. My children could not stop talking about the frogs, petting zoo and the crafts.” –Parent
