They aren’t exactly electronic waste, but it doesn’t seem right to landfill them either.  One suggestion would be to use a mail-back program.  Green Disk seems to be a user friendly option.  Here is a link to their website:  Electronics Recycling Services, CD Recycling Serices, and DVD Electronics Video Tape.
