National 4-H Week is the first full week in October, during which millions of youth, parents, volunteers, and alumni across the country celebrate everything 4-H. Area 4-H clubs observe National 4-H Week this year by showcasing the incredible experiences that 4-H offers young people and highlighting the remarkable 4-H youth in our community who work each day to make a positive impact on those around them.
The theme of this year’s National 4-H Week is “Beyond Ready.” 4-H is an opportunity for all as 4-H encourages kids to take part in hands-on learning experiences in areas such as health, science, agriculture, and civic engagement. More young people need the hands-on, youth-led experiences that 4‑H programs provide. Experiences where they learn by doing, grow from failure, express their ideas, and use their influence to drive positive outcomes. Adult mentors provide guidance, ask questions, share learnings, and encourage. The 4-H program offers over 80 different project areas, different educational opportunities, the chance to travel, and so much more! Check out what the Fond du Lac County
4-H program can offer you!
Area youth in Fond du Lac County participate in various ways to celebrate throughout the week. Some clubs have their club meetings and celebrate with fun activities inviting potential new members participate. Other clubs take this as an opportunity to promote their clubs with displays of what their club has to offer throughout their community. Many youth will be celebrating the new year at the Fall Kick-Off on Wednesday, October 2, where they will plan out the 4-H year, collaborate with others, and learn some leadership skills to implement with their clubs. If you are interested in becoming involved with the 4-H program? There are over 150 adult volunteers that have fun while making a positive impact on the youth in Fond du Lac County.
