Just in Time Parenting is a free parenting newsletter that is delivered by email and specific to a child’s age and needs. The newsletters are designed so that information that’s relevant to your family is automatically delivered to you just in time!
Each issue includes:
- Easy to use guides on how your child is developing
- Tips on raising a healthy, happy child
- Tools for solving common parenting problems
- Strategies for coping with the challenges of raising children
Parents in Fond du Lac County have been receiving age paced parent education newsletters for 24 years through the partnership between UW Extension Family Living, six Fond du Lac County Kiwanis Clubs, and Agnesian Health Care. Parents receive the Just In Time age paced newsletter subscription information through their hospitals (St. Agnes, Ripon Medical, or Waupun Hospital). Since 2005, 7,929 infants in Fond du Lac County have participated in this newsletter! In addition to new parents, foster parents and adoptive parents are also able to receive the newsletter. Michelle Tidemann, Fond du Lac County UW Extension Family Living Educator, along with UW Extension Digital Parenting Specialist, have created a follow-up survey for parents to report their use and applicability of the Just In Time newsletter in January 2017. Results for this new tool will begin to appear in the latter half of 2017.
