Extension Dairy & Livestock Agent Tina Kohlman was recently inducted in to the Wisconsin State Fair Dairy Hall of Fame for her 19 years of service to the state fair Jr Dairy Show and her dedication to the dairy youth of Wisconsin.
Kohlman began supporting the Jr Dairy Show in 2000, checking cattle at the show ring. Over the years, her responsibilities grew, with the last nine years serving as the superintendent. In this role, she annually managed a volunteer staff of 12 individuals and 600 plus youth exhibitors showing over 800 head of cattle. During her 19 years, Kohlman saw an estimated total of 12,562 junior dairy exhibitors leading their 17,125 head of cattle into the showing.
UW-Extension has had a long history supporting the Wisconsin State Fair Jr Dairy Show, with the superintendent of the show being a county extension agent. Past county agents included retired Fond du Lac County Dairy Agent Irv Possin. Due to time constraints, Kohlman retired from the Jr Dairy Show this past fair.
