Are you looking for ways to get more involved in your community? Do you have a hobby, skill, or career that you would love to share with youth? Fond du Lac County is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join the growing list of 4-H project leaders. A comprehensive project leader training program is being offered to equip you with the necessary resources, guidance, and hands-on learning experiences to effectively lead project meetings.
On Saturday, February 22, six adults participated in the project leader training. The training covered various topics, including the 4-H Thriving Model, selecting appropriate activities for different age groups, locating 4-H curriculum and resources, planning effective project meetings, and understanding reflections and evaluations. Participants engaged in hands-on activities, such as drawing representations of youth at different developmental stages and participating in group discussions to exchange ideas. Many attendees expressed their excitement about utilizing the new resources they discovered during the training.
The county emphasizes the importance of project leaders to facilitate experiential learning for youth. If you have any questions, please reach out to Tracy Keifenheim, the Fond du Lac County 4-H Program Educator. Several project areas currently have many youth enrolled but lack leaders to guide them.
If you are interested in becoming more involved or have skills to offer, please contact Tracy Keifenheim at tracy.keifenheim@wisc.edu or by calling 920-906-4625. Your involvement can make a significant difference in the lives of our youth.
