Cloverbud Day Camp Blasts Off: An Out-of-This-World Adventure

On July 23, twenty-eight eager Cloverbuds embarked on a day filled with cosmic creativity and hands-on learning during our “Out of This World” themed day camp. Guided by two youth leaders, two adult volunteers, and two staff members, campers explored space-themed STEM activities and interstellar art projects that sparked curiosity, fostered teamwork, and encouraged imaginative play.

Launching the Day Campers began with a warm welcome, followed by check-in and mini activities, including coloring sheets and puzzles. Youth leaders helped campers find their way to activity stations, sparking excitement for the adventures ahead. Icebreaker name games and space-themed questions encouraged new connections and set the tone for a day of discovery.

Exploring Creativity and Science Participants crafted astronaut helmets and designed their own planets, showcasing individual creativity through color and texture. Outside, science met fun as campers launched film canister rockets powered by Alka-Seltzer and water. The momentum continued with shimmering CD UFOs decorated in foil, gems, and pipe cleaners.

Rotations and Experiments After lunch, campers flew paper airplanes and helicopters before diving into hands-on rotations that included Galaxy Jars, personalized Name Rockets, and lively rounds of space-themed BINGO. These activities encouraged campers to express themselves and explore scientific concepts in engaging ways.

Reflective Finale Snack time featured Oreo moon phase models and rocket-themed fruit kabobs to keep energy high. The day concluded with a group photo and recognition of the “Camper of the Week.” Congratulations to Charlie G!

A Stellar Success Thanks to the enthusiasm of our campers and the dedication of volunteers and staff, Cloverbud Day Camp delivered an unforgettable journey across the stars. It was a meaningful celebration of youth imagination, learning, and connection.
