Bring Hands-On Learning Into Your Classroom!

Are you a Fond du Lac County educator looking to bring hands-on excitement into your classroom? Fond du Lac County 4-H school enrichment programs offer dynamic, hands-on learning experiences delivered in partnership with schools right during the school day. These programs are designed to complement classroom curriculum while sparking curiosity, creativity, and real-world connections. From science and agriculture to art and global cultures, our enrichment experiences bring learning to life.

Available 6-week Programs:

CHOOSE A SESSION: Wednesdays – Fall 2025 (Sept 17-Oct 22) OR Spring 2026 (April 15-May 20)
CHOOSE A TIME FRAME: Between 8-11 AM OR Between 12-3 PM (Each session runs up to 60 minutes as fits your schedule)

Clubs are sorted by recommended grade levels, but may be adjusted for your specific classroom’s needs.

Art-Lit (Grades K-3)

Art-Lit to Go! is an innovative Iowa 4-H Clover Kids program that supports the development of art and literacy skills for K-3 children. Lessons utilize a range of process-focused and product-focused art experiences to teach children a basic understanding of the foundational art elements of line, shape, color, form, and texture through integrated art-literacy activities. In addition, this exciting research-based program is designed to support the National Core Arts Standards and the Common Core English Language Arts Standards.

Recommended Audience: Grades K-3
Project Areas: Cloverbud (Grades K-2), Exploring (Grade 3)

Seasons of Discovery (Grades K-3)

STEAM’n Through the Seasons is an innovative Iowa 4-H program that supports the development of STEAM and literacy skills for K-3 children. This informal education program is designed to teach children fundamental STEM and art concepts through integrated STEAM-literacy activities that focus on a seasonal topic. In addition, this exciting research-based program is designed to support the Next Generation Science Standards, Iowa Core Mathematics Standards, National Core Arts Standards, and the Common Core English Language Arts Standards.

Recommended Audience: Grades K-3
Project Areas: Cloverbud (Grades K-2), Exploring (Grade 3)

LEGO Club (Grades K-8)

Youth use LEGO® bricks to build simple and complex structures with creativity and imagination. Youth can build structures and landscapes using various bricks to practice engineering, design, and construction skills. Use LEGO® or Duplo® bricks to design and build a simple structure. Modify designs to add creativity or improve a structure or model. Design, create, and share creative designs to meet a need of your community, school, or family.

Recommended Audience: Grades K-8

Wildlife Club (Grades 3-5)

In this project area, you will learn about the different types of wildlife groups, their habitat needs, conservation, and interactions between humans and wildlife. Learn about and watch wildlife in their natural habitat. Explore wildlife adaptations and how to help rehabilitate injured animals. Investigate how the environment impacts wildlife and how we interact with wildlife and their habitats.

Recommended Audience: Grades 3-5

AgBadging (Grades 3-5)

The AgBadging Field Guide leads learners through an exploration of agriculture—what you eat, wear, and use every day. It is designed for nonformal (e.g., farm field days) and formal classroom use. Students can earn five different themed badges and a completion badge. Badges provide recognition for learning and serve to positively motivate learning about agriculture. Students select activities to earn badges within the themes of Agriculture & the Environment, Plants & Animals, Food & Health, Technology & Engineering, and Geography & Culture. Each theme has milestones that track the student’s agricultural journey. Students select three milestones to complete for each badge.

Recommended Audience: Grades 3-5
Project Area: Exploring (Grade 3-5)

Activities include things such as making sugar crystals, homemade slime, polymer bouncy balls, and homemade ice cream.

Recommended Audience: Grades 3-8
Project Area: STEM, Self-Determined

Chick Hatching (Grades K-5)

Hatch Curiosity in Your Classroom!

Are you a Fond du Lac County elementary classroom educator who wants to spark curiosity and bring the life cycle to life in your classroom? With real eggs, real chicks, and real science, this experience is one your students won’t forget. Take your students on a four-week classroom journey through the life cycle of chickens. 4-H Chick Hatching activities promote unforgettable learning, and you’ll receive all the supplies needed to hatch eggs in your classroom along with guidance from Fond du Lac County 4-H staff. Students will gain firsthand experience with embryology and animal development, while learning about animal agriculture and egg production as they monitor embryonic growth and witness chicks hatching up-close.
