The Tri-County Science Expedition Field Trip to UW–Madison on November 4, 2026 is set to give 4-H youth in grades 6 and up an unforgettable day of hands-on science exploration. Youth from Fond du Lac, Ozaukee, and Washington counties will come together for an immersive experience featuring workshops, tours, and demonstrations in fields like astronomy, biology, geology, engineering, and sustainability. Youth who attended last year’s expedition are encouraged to participate again, as the sessions and activities will be different this year.
Participants will visit cutting-edge research labs, vibrant greenhouses, and fascinating museums, engaging directly with scientists and researchers. This in-person opportunity offers a unique glimpse into college life while sparking curiosity in future STEM careers through interactive, age-appropriate activities.
Cost: $10 per youth. Participation is limited to 20 youth, and two approved adult volunteers are needed to serve as chaperones. Upon request, County Educators can provide a letter for an excused absence for missing a school day.
