Looking for engaging, hands-on learning experiences for the youth you work with?
Fond du Lac County 4-H offers educational programs for schools, afterschool programs, community organizations, libraries, and other youth-serving sites throughout the county.
Our programs spark curiosity, creativity, and confidence while helping youth build life skills through hands-on learning. From science and wildlife to art and global cultures, 4-H enrichment experiences encourage exploration, problem-solving, and real-world connections.
Program offerings and availability may change throughout the year.
Programs
Most programs are offered as 4 to 6 session series, with each session lasting up to 60 minutes. Scheduling can be tailored to fit your organization’s needs and may take place during the school day, after school, or other program times. Content may be adapted based on the age of participants, organization needs, and available time. Additional programs may be available based on scheduling and educator availability.
Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM)
LEGO Challenges (Grades K-8)
Youth explore engineering and design through hands-on LEGO® building challenges. Participants create, test, and improve solutions while working individually and collaboratively to solve problems.

Exploring the Wonders of Science (Grades 3-8)
Youth explore scientific concepts through hands-on experiments and investigations. Participants test reactions, examine properties of materials, and discover how science explains everyday phenomena.
Recommended Audience: Grades 3-8
Project Area: Self-Determined STEM
STEM: CSI (Grades 3-8)
Youth explore the science behind crime-solving through hands-on forensic investigations. Participants analyze evidence, examine fingerprints, crack codes, and follow clues to solve mysteries.

Natural Resources & Environmental Education
Wisconsin Wildlife & Nature (All Ages)
Youth explore Wisconsin’s wildlife, habitats, and natural resources through hands-on activities, investigations, and outdoor discovery. Participants learn about the connections between animals, plants, people, and the environment.
Recommended Audience: All Ages

Seasons of Discovery (Grades K-3)
Youth explore seasonal changes through hands-on STEAM, literacy, and agriculture activities. Participants investigate nature, create art projects, conduct simple science experiments, and connect stories to real-world observations.

Creative Arts
Art Exploration (Grades 3+)
Youth explore a variety of artistic techniques and materials through hands-on creative projects. Participants experiment with painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, and mixed media while expressing their ideas and creativity.

Art Around the World (Grades 3+)
Youth explore global cultures through traditional and contemporary art forms from around the world. Participants create projects inspired by artistic traditions while learning about the history and significance of different cultural art practices.

Art-Lit (Grades K-3)
Youth explore children’s literature through hands-on art activities. Youth explore children’s literature through hands-on art activities. Participants create projects inspired by stories while exploring line, shape, color, texture, and other elements of art.

Citizenship, Leadership & Community Engagement
Exploring 4-H (Grades 3+)
Youth explore a variety of 4-H project areas through hands-on activities and experiences. Participants engage with topics such as science, art, leadership, agriculture, and community service while learning about 4-H values and opportunities.

Youth explore community needs and opportunities for positive change through hands-on service projects. Participants work collaboratively to identify challenges, develop solutions, and contribute to their communities.

Agriculture & Plant Science
Chick Hatching – Spring Only (Grades K-8)
Program Length: 4 Weeks
Youth explore embryology, animal development, and animal agriculture through the experience of hatching chicks in their classroom. Participants monitor embryonic growth and observe the hatching process while learning about the life cycle of chickens.
Recommended Audience: Grades K-8

Gardening and Plant Science – Coming Soon! (Grades K-8)
Youth explore how plants grow and the important role they play in our lives. Participants investigate gardening practices, plant needs, soils, pollinators, food production, and environmental stewardship through hands-on activities.

Hydroponics – Coming Soon! (Grades K-8)
Youth explore how plants can grow without soil through hands-on investigations of hydroponic systems. Participants examine plant growth, food production, and the role of technology in agriculture.

Global Learning & Cultural Exploration
Culture Quest: Latin America – Coming Soon! (Grades 3+)
Youth explore the cultures of Latin America through hands-on activities, games, traditions, music, food, geography, and language. Participants learn about the diversity of people, histories, and communities throughout the region.
