National 4-H Week, celebrated October 4-10, 2026, recognizes the impact of 4-H on youth, families, volunteers, and communities nationwide. This year’s theme, “Beyond Ready,” highlights how 4-H prepares young people to thrive in a changing world through hands-on learning, leadership development, and mentorship. With more than 80 project areas spanning science, agriculture, health, civic engagement, and the arts, 4-H empowers youth to explore their interests, build valuable life skills, and make a positive difference in their communities. During National 4-H Week, Fond du Lac County 4-H clubs will showcase these opportunities and celebrate the accomplishments of local youth who are truly beyond ready.
Area youth in Fond du Lac County participate in a variety of activities to celebrate throughout the week. Some clubs hold special meetings with fun activities and invite potential new members to join them. Other clubs take the opportunity to promote their programs through displays and community outreach activities that highlight the many opportunities available through 4-H. Many youth will also celebrate the new 4-H year at the Fall Kick-Off on Wednesday, October 7, where they will plan for the year ahead, connect and collaborate with fellow 4-H members, and develop leadership skills they can bring back to their clubs. Youth and volunteers alike are encouraged to participate in national celebration days, including Go Green Day on Monday, October 5, and Thankful Thursday on October 8, recognizing the positive impact that 4-H members, volunteers, and educators have on our communities.
