Winter Leadership Camp – Leading in All Directions

Fond du Lac County Youth who attend Winter Leadership Camp along with Tracy Keifenheim, 4-H Educator are all wearing blue shirts.

Seven Fond du Lac County youth leaders were part of 40 youth from 8 different counties attending Winter Leadership camp. Over the course of the weekend Extension educators facilitated Leadership Summit- Hike your Leadership Trail from Nebraska Extension. Friday night youth arrived at Camp Spencer Lake in Waupaca. After checking in, youth had the opportunity to make connections with peers before diving into Hike your Leadership Trail content. A personality quiz helped each youth identify skills, likes, and traits they possess and how those traits determine their leadership styles. Many of the youth enjoyed team building skills such as tower building, team tightrope, LEGO Brick building challenge, and more. Youth had the opportunity to try out different projects when they rotated through the Sparks Stations that included things such as pipe cleaner flowers, paper circuits, fleece hand warmers, animal bead pets, among other activities. Sunday wrapped up with reflecting on the weekend and youth writing a letter to their future selves. Many youth were excited to bring their new skills home to their respective counties.
