This is an important update regarding herdsmanship as it differs from what is outlined in the 2026 Fair Book.
Beef/swine herdsmanship awards will be based on the number of animals in the club or chapter. Three awards will be given for large clubs/chapters, and three awards will be given for small clubs/chapters. Cash prizes of $40, $30, and $20 will be awarded.
Lamb/sheep and market goats herdsmanship awards will be given as a group. Only three awards will be given to the entire group. Cash prizes of $40, $30, and $20 will be awarded.
BARN DISPLAYS
In celebration of America’s 250th birthday this year, the Fair Board is asking that all barn displays reflect our nation’s milestone anniversary. Please plan to decorate using the theme “Happy 250th Birthday United States of America!” Don’t forget that your barn displays should also have an educational component as well. This will be included in herdsmanship judging as well.

ATTENTION SWINE EXHIBITORS: PRRS/PEDv Testing
The Fair Board has adopted DATCPs recommendations set on March 5 that repeals PRRS/PEDv testing requirements, yet requires a standard intra-state swine health certificate. It is important to note that this waiver ONLY applies to the PRRS/PEDv testing. Standard health papers/testing are still required.
