Empowering our County Nonprofits with Extension

Nonprofits across Fond du Lac County are doing the critical work every day to build communities where everyone can thrive, but they are not immune from economic uncertainties. Like so many of us who live and work here, these organizations are being asked to do so much more with less. As uncertainty about federal funding coupled with fears of a recession continue, Extension knows it is important to work alongside our nonprofit community partners to build individual skills and organizational capacity to continue their critical missions.

In late March, your Community Development Educator, Noah, partnered with the Fond du Lac Area Foundation to deliver a day-long workshop on the foundational parts of nonprofit fundraising and financial sustainability strategies. “I feel more equipped to tackle the financial goals my organization has. Specifically, the tools on donor engagement were very helpful!” said one of the workshop attendees. Nonprofit leaders who attended said that thanks to the workshop, they felt significantly more confident in their own ability to meet their organizations financial goals over the next 12 months.

As our county organizations and community members navigate increasingly uncertain times, your community development educator remains committed to providing the training, facilitating conversations, and 1:1 coaching to all residents of our county. If you are a nonprofit leader looking for support, an organization looking for professional development opportunities, or a member of the community who wants to build up your community, you can contact Noah at noah.reif@wisc.edu or call her at 920-906-4629.
